This batch of beans was produced by a coop of small family farms and much of the processing was done at their homes.
These beans are peaberry beans, a classification of coffee that is a result of one seed forming inside the coffee cherry instead of two. The beans are smaller and rounder than standard beans. Peaberries occur in only about 5% of the world’s coffee, and are known for having more intense flavor and sweetness.
